The Schulz Orchestra was a group consisting of six brothers including Oswald Schulz, my Grandmother Marion Carstens' father (on trumpet) and his brothers. Unfortunately, he would die in 1919 when my grandmother was only a year old. Up until August of 2026 no one alive in our family had ever seen a picture of him, let alone knew there were more musicians in our family history. Much like Easton written about by my Grandma Colburn, the town where they thrived was called Clifton in Monroe County, Wisconsin. It had general stores, a hotel and even a dance hall. Now after the freeways bypassed it, it has become an almost unrecognizable bit of road where a few scattered housed remain.
