Thus his impartial love he does display,
To teach us brotherly love in this way.
That life and health and peace might come to all,
Who will hear and obey the savior's call.

Only pure brotherly love can replace,
The wounded sin scarred child of grace.
Our deeds of mercy cannot be in vain,
By works of mercy, mercy we obtain.

Help me my God, in thee alone to trust,
And lay up treasures where they cannot rust.
Then my heart will with my bright treasures be,
And all my thoughts be kept in purity.

Moses, in the law gave commandments ten,
Saint Matthew recorded with his graphic pen,
Christ's gospel of glad tidings, to all men,
"Glory to God, good will to man. Amen."
